Fellows of the Institute of Broadcast Sound

Fellowship of the Institute may be awarded at the discretion of the Executive Committee following nominations from members (including existing Fellows). To qualify, a person must be "(operationally) outstanding in their area and/or have performed a long, honourable and highly regarded service to the IBS and/or to Broadcasting".

Current Fellows of the Institute

		Harold Kutscherauer, FIBS Retired sound supervisor in BBC Radio outside broadcasts, was the first member to be appointed a Fellow, in 1983

		Ray Dolby, FIBS The founder of Dolby Laboratories, was appointed in 1987

		Hugh Barker, FIBS A BBC television sound supervisor, was appointed in 1993. Now Retired.

		Ron Godwyn, FIBS The retired editor of the Institute’s journal Line Up

		David Meares, FIBS Former Head of Studio Group at the BBC Research Department at Kingswood Warren

		Graham Haines, FIBS A highly experienced and greatly respected sound supervisor with BBC TV for many years

		Mick (Masaki) Sawaguchi, FIBS A sound supervisor with Japanese broadcaster NHK, a major force in surround sound and a Fellow of the AES
