Simon Bishop MIBS

Simon began working in the sound department for a corporate film company.
He spent the majority of his career working freelance, mainly on TV dramas,
feature films, documentaries, commercials and corporates. He's worked
for both the BBC and ITV with credits including : 'Auf Wiedershen Pet',
'Life Begins', and some UK shooting on 'Star Wars' Ep. 2

Bob joined the BBC as a Technical Operator. He has worked as a Sound
Balancer specialising in sessions - working with John Peel he has engineered
many top bands. He later worked on studio re-furbs, with Neve on the
development of the DSP, and was instrumental in the design of the first
BBC direct-to-air studios. Bob became a freelance Consultant in 1996

Mike Felton MIBS
Director
Mike is a founding member of the IBS. He had a thorough grounding in drama and LE shows and moved to specialise in music shows. Mike has now worked on over 150 "Later... with Jools" and still counting. Mike retired from the BBC after 42 years and now works freelance on Later... and location events e.g. Union Chapel, with the LSO, Mercury music prize and Glastonbury festivals. Mike's current interest is surround for HD.

Pete's background is with the BBC Transcription Recording Unit, where he spent 25 years mixing all sorts of music and the odd quiz show.
10 years ago he built a small multitrack mobile (As the Crow Flies) and has been precariously, but happily, freelance ever since.

John started his career as a BBC Trainee Engineer in the Bush House control room, working his way through maintenance and operations, before leaving the BBC in 1996 as Chief Engineer at BBC Essex. John is now responsible for the management of technical support for all GCap’s London operations. John became Chairman of the Institute of Broadcast Sound in 2007 and also serves on the Radio Academy’s Technical Advisory Committee. He was a Sony Silver Award winner in 2004 for his co-production of Classic FM's Masterprize 2003 broadcast.

As a Sound Supervisor at BBC Television Bish specialised in music balancing
for LE and Music & Arts programmes. On the formation of the IBS
he was appointed Chairman, a post he held until 1985 when he was elected
President. He led the group that developed the Skillset standards
in sound, and in 1992 left the BBC to become Publishing Manager of
Line Up

Vice President
Starting his career as a BBC Studio Manager, John moved into management
with 4 years at EMIson and then 9 years at Alice (Stancoil Ltd.),
followed by 4 years as Sales & Marketing Director at Neve, several
years as a freelance consultant and 3 years as Marketing Director
at SSL. He has served on the EC of the IABM and on the IBC Conference
Committee and was Chairman of the IBS from 1998 to 2007
